Tap Into NHHE’s Southern Twist on #BlackGirlMagic

The #BlackGirlMagic is here to stay, and there is significant buying power and cultural influence attached to it. According to a recent Nielsen report African-American Women: Our Science, Her Magic, “African-American women’s consumer preferences and brand affinities are resonating across the U.S. mainstream, driving total Black spending power toward a record $1.5 trillion by 2021.” Relatedly, the natural hair industry is leading and driving the growth in the billion-dollar hair care business, opening opportunities for independent and emerging brands while supporting the resurgence of some well-established legacy brands. Most importantly, African American women are seeking overall healthier lifestyles. The same Nielsen report indicates that 60% of Black women buy natural products because they are concerned about the environment, and 63% buy natural, citing concerns about their health and that of their family. Coupled with the fact the 55% of the US African American population live in the South and 54% of African Americans are women, the Natural Hair and Health Expo offers a unique opportunity to capitalize on this intersection of growing spending power, explosive category growth and the deliberate move toward health and wellness where she lives. Ask us today how you can add the NHHE to your 2018 marketing and promotion mix as you make an investment in the consumers who are influencing tomorrow.
